Terms of Use

Last updated: 3 October 2026

These terms apply when you download and use Spots, the times-tables app made by Salimov Studios (“we”, “us”). We have tried to write them so they can be read in a few minutes. If anything is unclear, write to us at salimovstudios@gmail.com.

Automatic renewal, in short

The monthly and yearly plans are subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel, and the 2-week free trial turns into the monthly subscription. To avoid a payment, cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or the current period ends, in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions or with Manage subscription in the app. The lifetime purchase is a single payment and never renews.

1. Apple’s licence

Spots is licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”), which covers apps from the App Store. The terms on this page add to it for things it doesn’t cover, such as the free trial and the plans. If the two ever conflict, the Apple EULA applies. Nothing here reduces the rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live.

2. The free trial

New subscribers can use the whole app (all 10 tables, division, the stories, the checks and the diplomas) free for 2 weeks. The free 2 weeks are the introductory period of the monthly family subscription. A parent starts them in the grown-ups area, at first setup or later, through Apple. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the 2 weeks end, nothing is charged. If you don’t, the monthly subscription begins (see section 4).

After the trial, Spots can only be used with a subscription or the lifetime purchase. Without one, the tables stay locked. The badges and diplomas your child has earned stay visible, and nothing about buying is shown to your child.

3. The plans

After the free trial, Spots needs one of these:

  • Monthly: a subscription that renews every month. New subscribers get the first 2 weeks free.
  • Yearly: a subscription that renews every year.
  • Lifetime: one payment. It is not a subscription and never renews.

The price, the billing period and what’s included are shown in the app and on Apple’s purchase sheet before you confirm. Prices are set per country and include VAT or GST where it applies.

4. Subscriptions and the free trial

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. If you start the free trial, the first payment is charged when the trial ends.
  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (each month or each year) at the price shown in the App Store, until you cancel.
  • To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial or the current period ends.
  • You can cancel in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad, or with Manage subscription in the app’s grown-ups area. You don’t need to give a reason.
  • If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged. If you cancel later, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for, and no further payments are taken.
  • The free trial is for new subscribers. Apple allows one free trial per Apple Account.
  • If the price of a subscription changes, Apple tells you before the new price applies and, where the law requires it, asks for your agreement first.
  • If the free trial or a subscription ends, the tables lock again. Nothing your child has done is deleted: badges and diplomas stay visible, and their progress stays on the device and is there again if you subscribe later.

5. The lifetime purchase

  • One payment opens the whole app. It is not a subscription and never renews.
  • It belongs to your Apple Account, works on your iPhone and iPad, stays with you through updates of the app, and can be restored with Restore purchases in the grown-ups area.
  • Buying it does not cancel a subscription you already have. If you have one, cancel it in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions so it doesn’t renew.
  • “Lifetime” means for as long as Spots is offered and runs on your device. We can’t promise that every future iPhone, iPad or iOS version will run it.

6. Family Sharing

All three plans work with Apple’s Family Sharing. The person who buys can share Spots with up to five other family members, who then have the same plan on their own devices. Sharing follows your Family Sharing settings. Only the person who started a subscription can cancel it.

7. Ask to Buy

If a child’s Apple Account uses Ask to Buy, a purchase in Spots (including a plan that starts with a free trial) is sent as a request to the family organiser or a parent or guardian in the family group, who can approve or decline it on their own device. Nothing is bought until it is approved. A request that isn’t approved within 24 hours lapses, and a new one can be sent. Until then, nothing about buying is shown to your child.

8. Payments, refunds and withdrawal

Purchases are made through Apple and paid to Apple, and Apple’s Media Services Terms apply to them, including Apple’s rules on refunds. To ask for a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple decides on refund requests; we can’t issue refunds ourselves.

  • In the EU or Norway: Apple’s Media Services Terms for your country explain your right of withdrawal and when it applies: Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, or other countries.
  • In Australia: you have rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including the consumer guarantees, that these terms do not limit. Apple’s terms for Australia are here.

9. Children and parents

Spots is made for children aged about 6 to 10, used with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. The adult who downloads the app or buys a plan accepts these terms for the family and is responsible for purchases and for how the app is used at home.

Everything to do with money, settings and sharing sits in the grown-ups area, behind a parental gate. The gate keeps younger children out, but it is not a lock. If you want every purchase to need your approval, use Ask to Buy or Screen Time.

Spots supports what your child learns at school; it does not replace their teacher. Children learn at different speeds, and the app’s estimates are a range, not a promise.

10. Our content, and what you may share

The drawings, the ladybug and other characters, the stories and the text in Spots belong to Salimov Studios and are protected by copyright. The Apple EULA gives you a licence to use the app.

You may also print and share the weekly cards, certificates, diplomas and paper check sheets the app makes, with your family and with your child’s teacher or school. Please don’t sell them, or reuse the app’s art or stories elsewhere, without asking us first.

11. Our responsibility

We work to keep Spots accurate and reliable, and we will try to fix problems you report. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for progress lost from your device, which we cannot see or back up. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that the law does not allow to be limited, or your rights under the consumer law of your country.

12. Changes

We may update Spots and these terms. When we change the terms, we will post the new version here with a new date. A change will not apply to a period you have already paid for. If you don’t agree with a change, you can cancel a subscription at any time.
